Last day of Winter '14 quarter

My last final is due today:  Graphic Design.  Had to create or redo a game interface screen shot, so I chose to create and design a sort of Dungeons and Dragons character selection screen.

And here was my Viz Com 2 final:

and my Art History 2 final, imitating Baroque chiaroscuro/ tenebrism (sans gold leaf version):

Anatomy was compiled into a packet, and I haven't taken a photo of my Costumed Figure Drawing final yet, or good ones of my Sculpture.  More to come!

FILI HOBBIT MUG~!

Hey, so a couple of friends and I are quite obsessed enthusiastic about Lord of the Rings /The Hobbit recently, particularly, Fili.  Since all female dwarves totally have beards, we've been considering and deciphering which dwarves in the Hobbit are actually women.  It's pretty fun XD  We're thoroughly convinced Fili is actually a big sis to Kili, and that's definitely our favorite.  In that same line of thought, we love her 'stache.  Having a 'stache mug (stereotypical black gentleman meme kind), I realized a Fili mugstache would be better.  And here it is!

The first two are 1hr paintings for the Nodus Sketchgroup, and the hibisci was a long project for my Grandma as a print, 20x30.

If you're wondering-- all 5 of my followers (hi Mom!)-- I haven't been posting much lately at all not because I haven't been doing any work, but because I am now happily drowning in art work.  I'm now enrolled at Gnomon, taking a bunch of classes like Photoshop, Viz Com, Figure Drawing, etc.  What I'm most pleased of is how my personal work has been improving.

Some students put together a facebook group for us to make 1hr long digital paintings (no photo filters), and then we comment on each others' work every week.  It's a great opportunity to get feedback as well as some odd-ball topics to pick from.  Here's the two I've done so far:

3 Day Weekend!

YEAH I did a painting this weekend. Also I finished my 5th sketchbook last week and almost done with my 6th! (it already had some sketches in it). I may post some of my faves from those later. 2013 stuff!
